FHE at Jordanelle

We went up to Jordanelle for a FHE with the Parkers (our Friends) and went fishing and canoeing (sp) ... the boys seemed to have a bunch of fun. Bryson lost his flip flop in the water, luckily Hayley was able to find it.
Eating hot dogs for dinner, we had big plans for a tin foil dinner. But when it came down to it, hot dogs were simply easier. What gets me is that my boys don't like them warm, so here is Bryson eating a right out of the package cold hot dog... mmm mmm good!
Preston is a cheese ball for the camera, I can hardley get a picture that he is just smiling. It must be the age.
Weston just loves to be outside, can't get enough of it. When he gets crankie and nothing else is working, outside will solve it!
Bryson and Preston went for a canoe ride with John, I was certain the paddle was going to fall in the water but Bryson seemed to do okay. Preston had taken Zack binoculars and was looking for deer. We didn't see any :(
This is what is going on when your stomach drops and you scream while your child is laughing with joy. Preston is getting thrown in the air by Darren, he is easily 3 feet above Darren's head. He only gets is a few throws before his shoulders give out (needs a double rotator cuff surgery) but the boys love it. Bryson only gets about 6" off his hands... sad that he has gotten too big. This is a classic picture!

Hiking in Millcreek

Went for our first hike of the year, yes our first and it is July. Better late than never right? So foro our starter hike we went up to the Salt Lake overlook which is about a 4 mile round trip hike. The boys did it... not without complaint... but they did it. However when we got home I began to realize that you don't put a 20 pound pack on, and hike 4 miles without exercising for about 5 months...not a good idea!

Proof that we made it to the top
Weston was exhausted, it took a lot out of him. I think he looks so cute in the backpack
The boys enjoyed the picnic by the river the most. We soaked out feet in the nice cold water.

Weston is always watching the boys trying to figure out what they are doing.

A bad Saturday

Ok - So this happened on one of those "Could have been better" Saturdays. Darren was out fishing with his Dad and our neighbor Rich. I was home, cleaning the bathrooms as that was - sad to say - my escape/releif. So I am on the floor scrubbing the toilet when I hear a THUD! I come running around the corner, yellow gloves and all, expecting to see one of the boys have fallen off the bunk bed. Instead I see Preston... screaming and swelling up by the second. He has broken his nose I think.. I just know it. I put him on the counter and try really hard to not get upset as I hear that they were still running past eachother in the hall, I had told them several time to stop, but at some point I gave up and cleaned the bathroom... good thinking mom! Preston had ran too close, bumped into Bryson and in turn ran full speed ahead into the corner of the dorr frame! Thus the thud I heard.
So I keep rubbing the silver spoon on his bumps and they aren't going down. I frantically call my mother to see if this is worth the $50.00 insta care visit... no answer. So I call my neighbo who's children are older than mine... she is running errands. At the same time Trina (my neighbor, irronic I know) shows up at my door and my mom calls. Well we decide to watch it, keep him awake, and wait for Dad.
Dad gets home - Boy do I have a surprise for you I say! What in the world happened? Yep a really fun Saturday... I love my boys!

Weston Joshua Arrives!

Well, he is finally here and yep he is a BOY. My preminissions were wrong and no Girl yet for the Steck family. Weston was born February 1st at 12:32 pm, weighing in at 6 pounds 11 ounces and 20 inches. He is absolutly beautiful if I do say so myself. Baby and I are both doing wonderfully and feeling well. It is such a miracle to have him with us in our house.

We invited Grandma Hydee to attend Weston's birth... I finally found something that she wanted and didn't already have. As usual I had baby super fast, so even though we called her when they broke my water she arrived (keeping in mind she was 10 minutes from the hospital) as I was strting to push. And while I felt like I was even more on display it was such a wonderful experience having her there. I will rememeber sharing this with her always :)
