4-Wheeler Fun up Bingham Canyon
We took the boys up 4-wheeling a few Saturday's ago, I miss going all the time and we need to do this more. We have such a great time getting out there and getting dirty! This time we took the ride up to look down into the copper mine which the boys thought was super cool.

Grandma & Grandpa Steck's 50th Anniversary
Darren's parents celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary this weekend - actually their anniversary is in November, but they wanted to have the open house in their yard so they did it earlier in the year. All his siblings except Kevin and family and then Darryls wife were there - which I know made his parents happy.
They planned a whole day for the family, all the siblings and their children got together for a morning brunch which was great food. They then had an afternoon of games and pictures planned - except a lot of us had to bail on that with it being a Saturday. So Darren and I were one of the bailers, we had a bunch of errands to run and not much time to do it in. We left around 12:00 and had to be back at 2:30.
The day turned out to be very nice - a big successful congratulations to Paul and Karen... 50 years is rarely heard of any more... heck 5 years is considered successful anymore, which is so very sad. I look forward to being old and grey with Darren at our 50th!

We took a family picture at 2:30 - in the 13 years that I have been in the family this is the first family picture that I can recall being taken. (aside from my wedding) We are missing; Kevin and his family (4), Braydon (grandson), Matthew (missionary grandson), Sylvia (Darryl's wife), and Danielle (grand-daughter, my step-daughter) - not too shabby for the first family picture. I think we need to photoshop one in for them with everyone.
After the dinner they had an open house for their friends and neighbors - this lasted till 7 and was packed the whole time. It was great to watch them interact and hear people come up and talk to Darren and I about how much they think of his parents.
This is Paul (Far right) and his brother Carl and Jack and sister Sharon - Another sister come in later in the evening, but the windows made her picture not turn out. :(
People at the open house - I have no idea who anyone is :)
These are all of Karen's brothers and their wifes - they are super nice and I enjoy talking with them.

They really do have pretty supportive bro's/sis's - All of Pauls family is down in Manti/Richfield, of the 8 siblings, 7 living (including Paul) he had 4 come up for it. Karen is the only girl with 4 brothers, 3 of which live in Idaho and 1 in California. All of them made it for the anniversary. It was so great to see their support. In fact this was the first time I had met her oldest brother and his wife who are from California.

Preston Starts Kindergarten
Preston was so super excited to start Kindergarten this year... I on the other hand am super nervous. Preston is a very unique child who has baffled his teachers and doctors. He seems to have "a little bit of this and a little bit of that" (as my mother would say) but not enough to diagnose him. So we have been asked to wait half way through is kindergarten year and then re-see the doctors. Which is nice, really... I would rather they make sure. Too many kids are slapped with a label too young in life and grow up to find out they really aren't border line. So we will see what this year brings! Preston is in class with his 2 best buds! Briggs and Stockton who are twins in our neighborhood. I feel for this teacher and the 3 of them can really be boys if you know what I mean :) At the end of his first day I asked him how school was -- "It was a piece of cake Mom, That means it was easy" His second day of school was "A double piece of cake, it just keeps getting easier Mom" I love this kid, he always keeps me on the edge of my seat. Here is to a Piece of a Cake year in Kindergarten.
I couldn't get him to stop long enough to take a pic - he was too excited.

Lagoon 2010
My life insurance company gave us a 4 pack of free tickets to Lagoon, this was so perfect his year with Darren at of work we could not of afforded to go. Even though we had to take Bryson out of his 3rd day of school, it was worth it and the day was perfect. We left Weston home with Grandma Willis, I still feel he is too little and would be a struggle. Darren, who usually is content sitting and watching - popped 2 Dramamine and rode every ride! We started at Lagoon-a-Beach which we really only stay for about an hour or so. There aren't a whole lot of rides so we'd rather be out on the park rides. The we started on the north end and worked our way down, hitting just about every ride. Preston is 46.5" tall and you have to be 46" tall to ride the big rides. So we barley made the cut off. The boys did colossus, but didn't really love it, rode the white roller coaster and loved it thought. We waited in line for Wicked... they LOVED IT, we did it twice. Dinner was also free so we got some good eats and then headed back to do our favorites. Rode the spider for the first time, really liked that one too. and finished up at the water fountain where the boys get soaking wet before going to the car (yes we pack pj's) We had a great time!
