As soon as Darren heard that the All Stars game was going to be held at Spring Mobile - he knew we were going to go. Darren and I share a LOVE of baseball... we both thrive off the game and watching it. The field look amazing - I think I have about 30 pictures of the field only! Seriously gorgeous and for just a moment I felt like we had a MLB team with how well the organization pulled off the two day event. We bought 8 tickets thinking we could sell the 4 we didn't have called for but instead we used them for family and friends. Darren's parents joined us both nights, our friends - Laurie and Steve - joined us for the derby and my parents for the game. We ended up having one more ticket so we grabbed our neighbor last minute and took him to the game. We made the hard decision to leave Preston and Weston at home with sitters - we knew they would not sit though it or enjoy it. But it was neat to have two evenings alone with Bryson, he earned it... he is such a help to me around the house and with his brothers... all together it was an amazing two days!
HOME RUN DERBY - the first evening was the HR Derby which involved 3 High School all star athletes... one of which was like 6'2" and came in second place - it was crazy to watch him hit... he will be in the major for certain! The evening wasn't too eventful - derby's usually aren't really. They did have fireworks after the evening which we some of the best they've had. But your at a baseball game... with good food, friends and an amazing field - how bad can it be?
THE GAME - They had the game planned out with all the bells, two parachutters brought the flag down, there were fireworks during the national anthem, hall of fame guys threw opening pitches (no I cannot recall their names) and although we lost the game it ended with another amazing firework show! Such a fun, night.
Bryson got his mitt signed
